Kalanchoe Luciae, commonly known as paddle plant, red pancakes and desert cabbage, is an impressive plant characterised by large, broad, flattened leaves with eye-catching colours.
Resembling clamshells, the silvery green leaves are adorned with vibrant red wine tips during the cooler months when exposed to bright light.
Rosettes can grow to 15-20cm in diameter, and from late winter to early spring, produce tall stems reaching 60-90cm in length arising from its centre, bearing clusters of pale yellow, tubular flowers.
It grows to 30-60cm tall and 60-90cm wide.
Prefers full-sun to light-shade, and water sparingly, only when the soil is completely dry.
Ideal for containers in the garden, where spectacular floral arrangements can be created, or display as a stand alone showpiece indoors or outdoors.
